History of BizLive
Customers have been using our BizLive remote desktop solution since 2008 and those customers continue to use it today. We developed the initial concept back in 2007 before it became a mainstream offering. It was initially facilitated by a combination of clever infrastructure created by in-house R&D and software provided by 2X. As BizLive has developed and grown the infrastructure is now hosted in a tier 4 award winning data centre, ‘Six Degrees’. More than this it is now run by software provided by Citrix which offers a great deal more benefits. Citrix allows our customers to access their virtual desktops from a multitude of devices including iPads and mobile phones. It is now a much faster solution than what it was in 2008 with improved quality in graphics and video display. The development enables us to provision BizLive desktops very quickly and also allows business managers to manage the users and their permissions.
Flexibility of BizLive Hosted Desktop.
BizLive is a highly flexible and scalable solution. It can be provisioned for an individual who works from home and scales limitlessly up to multi-branch organisations with a limitless number of staff. The data is stored and synced in a tier 4 data centre and can be accessed and edited globally via desktops, laptops, iPads and Mobile Phones by any registered user. We work with business managers to configure the permissions of which data is accessible by each employee. We keep 14 days of backups for our customers so if files are accidently edited or deleted we can roll back up to 14 days to recover the lost data.
The nature of adopting a virtualised infrastructure such as hosted desktops brings a number of additional benefits including a disaster recovery strategy. The worry of manually backing up your data is gone and even if your offices were burnt to the ground, all of your data would remain intact and your employees could continue to work from their own devices at home. Businesses can easily adopt ‘Bring Your Own device’ (BYOD) using our hosted desktop solution which is considered by many to become the standard setup in the future.
The BizLive hosted desktop comes with the latest version of Microsoft Office as standard and is updated as soon as the next version comes out. This includes all applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook. By no means are customers limited to just using Microsoft Office though, we offer many other software solutions including accounting software, care management software, CRM applications and much more including your own in-house bespoke applications.
